The first annual Marietta Garden Tour is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 17, 2012, with proceeds to support the Marietta Community House. The Garden Tour, which is planned by the Board of Directors of the Community House, will take place from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m., and will hopefully feature eight to ten gardens within the Borough of Marietta. The cost will be $8.00 if tickets are purchased in advance and $10.00 on the day of the Tour. Vendors offering plant related items will be in attendance at the Community House. Lectures will be offered intermittently during the day in the Community House pertaining to strategies for planting, water features and other gardening ideas. It is the plan for a local landscaper to plant a garden at the Community House to serve as an example for other gardeners as well as to beautify the grounds.
